FAQ

What is the DentalPure Water System?

DentalPure system provides labs, dental and medical offices with distilled quality water. The DentalPure use a complex filtration process to deliver up to 12 gallons of distilled quality water per-day for use in autoclaves and clean water bottles, Combine the DentalPure system with Mint-A-Kleen dental unit waterlines and bottle cleaner, makes this system the most effective and affordable system on the market that addresses both the bio-film issue and the unwanted contaminants in city water (TDS).

Why do I need a DentalPure Water System for my autoclave?

Only distilled or de-ionized water is acceptable for autoclaves (steam sterilizers). Tap-water will corrode the internal components of your sterilizer, causing premature service issues and even total failure of the unit. The water used must be of the highest quality with virtually no TDS (total dissolved solids). Water should contain less than 005 ppm TDS so that the inside of the autoclave stays as clean as possible. Follow your sterilizer manufacturer’s recommendations on proper maintenance and care of your equipment.

I buy store bought bottles of distilled water, why do I need a DentalPure System?

Distilled bottled water is normally ok for your autoclaves. However, you should check even bottled water with a TDS meter to make certain the water quality is good enough for your autoclave. It is not uncommon to have a bottle of distilled water bought from a store to be above the 005 ppm limit for distilled-quality water. The DentalPure system will provides a better solution for your dental office than purchasing, carrying and storing bottles of water from a store. The system is also environmentally friendly since there are no bottles to send to a landfill.

Does the DentalPure System make enough water to last me an entire work day?

Each DentalPure system includes a pressurized tank that stores the treated water, it holds from 4.0 – 5.0 gallons of treated water that will be delivered to the faucet instantly. As soon as water is taken from the tank the system starts making more treated water. The system can make about 12 gallons of water in a 24 hour period.

Does the water that sits in the storage tank ever go bad?

The water can easily stay in the tank without going bad however, water should never sit in the tank for long periods of time without being used.

Do I ever need to empty the tank?

The tank should be emptied at least once each year to check the air pre-charge pressure and be sanitized. There are specific directions for performing this maintenance is your installation, operation and service manual.

Where is the best place to install the DentalPure System?

The DentalPure systems are normally installed in the base cabinet of the sterilization center. Systems can also be installed in other locations as long as there is a source for the cold water for the incoming line and a drain for the waste water.

What maintenance is involved with the DentalPure System?

(Cold Water line)

After purchasing the DentalPure System are there special installation requirement?

The only requirement for installing a DentalPure System is cold water (3/8”valve-stop cold water supply) and a nearby drain. Most offices install the DentalPure system into the base cabinet of the sterilization center. No electricity is required for this system, unless water pressure is less than 50 psi. (Water pressure less than 50 psi will require a booster pump)

Can office personal change the filters or does it take a service technician?

Changing the filters is not all the hard however, most dental offices have a trained service technician or maintenance person come in and replace filters.

Will the DentalPure System save our office money?
